ReplyDeleteOMGG i knoww. im starting to do more i guess you could call it " FUN " training with her now. i just wanted to make her "rideable" haha . She can back up now !! ha ha. She is like the Weirdest horse in the world. I know i am gonna get some books. i taught her, like when i point, she goes . and when i say trott she trot's. i can lunge her with out a lunge now too. she's just a " WEIRD" mare. VERY moody. hah buht i love her . ♥
We have been doing ALOT more ground work with her now. I will put together some videos. Thoose were "oldiSH" pictures. ( :

Well, She is so stupid sometimes. like last night i rode her, and she reared STRAIGH up ! >:| butttt i lunged her again, and rode somemore in the roundpin, and she did better today. soo PLEASE PRAY. that i will have patience with her. i was like in tears yesturday cause she almost killed me haha. I was THISclose to sending her to a trainer. BUT we dont have the money, and i just need to suck it up and deal with her naughtyness. Its cause the idoits who had her while ago, let her set and abused her. So she came to us 7 years old and unbroke !! .|.

Shes getting there. she did pretty good today. Trying to get her butt underneath her. and trying to work on rollbacks. sorry didnt mean to bore you with my vents. ;p
haha not bored :) It's hard getting their butt under them! Run her into fences..like ride straight and look somewhere in the distance straight ahead and act like there's no fence comin up, and then use your legs to hold her body straight and then she'll stop right be4 the fence and get her butt under her, and then quickly back up.
ReplyDeleteEVERY time you stop, back up, so she will be expecting the back up as soon as you stop, so she'll stop w/ her butt under her.
@Rollbacks-stop her @ a fence line & pull her head whichever way you want her to turn (i am going to say your turning right) and put your LEFT leg (if u r going right)up a little by her shoulder and "push" her shoulder that way, and as soon as her 2 front feet cross over eachother, GIVE ON ALL PRESSURE, giving is a release and rewarding to horses.If she won't cross her feet, then DON"T USE YOUR REINS OR ADD ANY PRESSURE TO THEM, but "man" her by your legs...start kicking her by her shoulder and progressively get harder (NO LOSING TEMPERS ALLOWED, progress is slow)as she will keep not doing it. release as soon as she goes. ttyl (on sunday :) )

How can you "not be a big fan of reining" when you've never ridden a reiner??? I not gonna hate you lol/...some people have different likes. I don't like what barrels do to horses and they are just not my thing :)
